City Workplace Uniforms and Mats, Oelwein, IA, recently signed a new contract with Iowa Premium Beef, which recently opened a new meatpacking facility. The contract with the Tama, IA, plant is the largest account in the 108-year history of City Workplace, and the company expects its volume to jump by 5-8% per week, or between 5,000-10,000 lbs., when the meatpacking operation is at full capacity, according to local media reports.

City Workplace beat out two national competitors for the account, according to the report. “We were the only independent company, and they really wanted to keep their money in the local Iowa community,” said Colin Wetlaufer, City Workplace Uniforms and Mats vice president and general manager. “We have really learned that our best customer relations that last the longest are local private companies like Iowa Premium Beef.”

The uniform rental contract with Iowa Premium Beef is for one year, with an option for five years. City Workplace currently has 70 full-time employees, and will be adding a new route and sales representative to support efficient service.
