Crothall Hosts Infection-Prevention Summit
Looking for new ways for hospitals and service partners to work together to prevent hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), Crothall Healthcare hosted its inaugural “Infection Prevention Powerhouse Summit,” on Dec. 7-8, 2016, at the company’s headquarters in Wayne, PA, according to a news release.
“The Summit's purpose is to seek a holistic solution in the prevention of HAIs,” said Rich Feczko, Crothall’s national director of systems, standards, innovations and global support. “Each supplier has expertise about specific products used in this fight. By collecting and analyzing data from key suppliers, and combining it with our own data, we can provide hospitals with a set of solutions for specific issues, as well as the overall prevention of HAIs.”
Crothall provides patient room cleaning and other environmental services to roughly 400 hospitals, the release said. It provides other support services, including food and laundry services to several hundred other hospitals. While staff at these facilities are already working with hospitals to prevent HAIs, the summit is designed to ramp up that effort by gathering and analyzing additional data from its participants, then testing and validating the findings with the help of hospitals nationwide.
Once all the data is collected and testing is complete, Crothall plans to issue a white paper and other materials by the fall of 2017 that will highlight key results. Click here for details.
