Crown (Miami) Set to Open Ft. Myers Plant
Crown Linen LLC, Miami, is set to open its new plant in Fort Myers, FL, next month, according to news reports.
The launderer recently held a job fair in an effort to screen and hire up to 50 people to work in the new, 40,000-square-foot plant in the Dunbar area of the city.
At full capacity, the plant will require as many as 130-140 people, according to General Manager and Managing Partner Pablo Lucchesi. The plant will provide linen services to area hotels and is designed to enable the company to better serve its customers in Southwest Florida.
Local officials are pleased with the development because Dunbar includes many low-income residents who would welcome the opportunity for new jobs and expanded economic activity in their neighborhood.
“This is what Dunbar has been waiting for, for a long time: good-paying jobs with benefits right here in the Dunbar neighborhood,” said Lee Ford, economic development chairman of the Dunbar 21st Century Collaboration.
The plant will provide jobs ranging from route drivers to mechanics and laundry line workers, Lucchesi said. Pay will vary based on whether it’s an entry-level job or supervisory/management post. Click here for details.
