For the second consecutive year, Cintas and The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) are searching for the world’s most innovative workplace safety solutions. With a March 31 deadline to apply for the 2015 Award for Innovation in Occupational Safety Management, just over a month is left to submit an entry.

“Every organization needs to keep safety at the forefront to ensure that employees make it home after each shift,” said Rick Gerlach, Cintas’ director of safety and health. “Fostering an environment of innovation can help safety programs better identify and address risks in the workplace.”

The winner of the contest will receive a $3,000 cash prize, according to the release. The contest is open to all industries and countries, and the winner also will receive a recognition plaque, and travel and accommodations to Safety 2015, ASSE’s annual conference in Dallas, scheduled for June 7-10.

Entries should highlight a workplace challenge and an employee’s unique solution to the issue, either developed or implemented within the last five years. The innovation may include elimination or reduction of hazards, improved safety knowledge or efficiency improvements. A panel of industry experts will consider the innovation’s safety and management benefits and the potential for applying the innovation across multiple programs or sites.
