Dempsey Acquires W.H. Linen
Dempsey Uniform & Linen of New Jersey LLC recently acquired the assets of W.H. Linen Supply Co. Inc., Clifton, NJ, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Currently celebrating 60 years in business, Dempsey is a supplier of restaurant linens to restaurants and contract foodservice companies located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. Family-owned and operated, Dempsey is well-known for leveraging the latest technologies to better serve its customers while helping control costs. W.H. Linen also was a family-owned company that had established itself over its 70-year history as a leading supplier of uniform rentals and linen services in New York City and Northern New Jersey.
With this acquisition, Dempsey plans to build on W.H. Linen’s record of success by bringing its own commitment to performance to the table. The goal is to continue to provide the highest-quality linens to fine-dining establishments, the release said. “W.H. Linen was a highly respected organization with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service,” said Kristin Dempsey, vice president of sales & service at Dempsey Uniform & Linen. “We’re pleased that so many of their people are joining the Dempsey family of employees.”
P.J. Dempsey, president, added that, “We have a great base of operations at the former W.H. Linen plant in Clifton, and we will continue to service customers in New York City and Northern New Jersey from this location. We will also invest in additional equipment, technology and products that will make our offering even stronger. At Dempsey, we want restaurants to be able to concentrate on their customers and employees, while our restaurant linen service runs seamlessly in the background.”
With the W.H. Linen acquisition, Dempsey now operates six locations between New York City and Washington, DC. Headquartered in Jessup, PA, Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply Inc. provides uniform rentals and restaurant linen services to businesses in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC.
