Denman Expands IL Healthcare Operation

Denman Linen Services, a healthcare cooperative laundry in Quincy, IL, recently announced a new contract with 16 facilities affiliated with OSF HealthCare in Peoria that will enable the launderer to add 8.5 million lbs. annually and hire 30 new staff, according to news reports.

Richard Kempe, president and CEO of Denman, said there’s still room for further expansion in the plant and that additional new business could be in the pipeline.

“This didn’t happen by accident,” Kempe said. “We actually had a strategy in the last two years, working with our board to try and prepare ourselves for taking on additional capacity. How we did that was in 2016 we spent about $4 million to do some capital improvements in our plant.”

The parent company of Denman Linen is Denman Services Inc. which is a for-profit division of the Blessing Health System, the reports said.

Denman currently operates a 60,000-square-foot plant in Quincy that – with the additional textiles from the OSF account – now will process 21 million lbs. annually. Click here for details.
