Dickies Gets Naming Rights to Ft. Worth Arena
TRSA associate member Williamson Dickie Manufacturing Co. recently secured naming rights for a new 14,000-seat multipurpose arena planned for its hometown of Ft. Worth, TX, according to news reports.
The new facility is currently under construction in Ft. Worth’s Cultural District. Sponsors of the new arena, including the nonprofit Multipurpose Arena Ft. Worth (MAFW) and city officials recently held a groundbreaking event at the site, the reports said.
Speakers at the April 18 ceremony included Williamson Dickie Chairman and CEO Phillip Williamson, who touted the company’s longstanding ties to the community. “We were established in Ft. Worth in 1922 as a family-run company and grew to become the world’s leading performance workwear brand from right here in this city,” Williamson said. “We’re proud that Dickies Arena will redefine what local entertainment means to our neighbors in Ft. Worth.”
The new arena is slated to open in November 2019 and will host the 2020 Stock Show and Rodeo.
“Fort Worth is known for cowboys and culture and this new arena will promote that,” said Ft. Worth Mayor Betsy Price. Click here for details.
