DOD Hosts Virtual Information Day to Discuss PPE

On July 14-15, the Department of Defense’s (DOD) COVID-19 Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF) and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), in coordination with interagency partners, hosted a virtual information day regarding current and future demand for personal protective equipment (PPE).

Event organizers indicated that a recording of both days of the webinar, along with the presentation materials, will be available on the JATF website no later than July 30. Click here to visit the website.

The goal of the webinar was to provide current and potential suppliers of PPE an understanding of PPE requirements from across multiple sectors of the economy, including the U.S. government and trade associations representing medical and nonmedical industry. Organizers also wanted to facilitate a dialogue between industry and the government regarding how current investments in domestic production may be supported by government and industry’s long-term planning for consumption of domestically produced PPE. The target audience for the webinar was current and potential domestic producers of PPE (end-items as well as sub-tier suppliers of material) and consumers of PPE, namely major industry trade associations and hospital and medical network representatives.

The following is a list of useful resources discussed during the webinar:
