Emerald Textiles®, San Diego, recently announced that a group affiliated with its ownership has purchased the large Otay Mesa facility that houses its processing plant, according to a news release.

Last year, Emerald, a healthcare laundry, increased its footprint by 45,000 square feet when it took the remaining space in its building. The expansion within the building was necessary to meet a growing demand for the company’s services, said Emerald CEO Tom Gildred. He added that a purchase of the building itself was the next logical step.

“We are thrilled with the growing appetite of the Southern California healthcare market for Emerald’s products and services,” Gildred said. “We believe our growth has been fueled by our commitment to cleanliness, along with our focus on taking care of our customers and employees.”

Guided by its mantra, Clean Matters®, Emerald’s technologically advanced, environmentally responsible commercial laundry is reporting annual savings of roughly 120 million gallons of water and more than 750,000 therms of natural gas. Click here for details.
