Falvey Linen Supply Inc., Cranston, RI, plans to expand its operations into the Springfield, MA, market after purchasing a $7 million plant in that area, according to local media reports. The company plans to purchase and renovate a 240,000-square-foot facility on 17 acres of land, the report noted.

“We are thrilled to welcome Falvey Linen to Springfield,” said Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. “This is a company with a history of success and will add more good-paying jobs for our residents and be a great addition to our business community. The word is out and Springfield is on the rise.”

The plant will bring 100 new jobs to Springfield. The company is currently managed by James and Patricia Falvey O’Hara, along with their daughter Kaitlin O’Hara, the fourth generation of the family involved in the business.

Falvey Linen is currently doing its due diligence on the project, double checking the feasibility of permitting, building design and the availability of sewer and water connections, according to the report. The company is seeking incentives through the state of Massachusetts Economic Development Incentive Program. To read the full report, click here.
