G&K Services Inc., Minnetonka, MN, recently announced the kickoff of its annual GKdirect® Workforce for a Cure campaign as part of October’s designation as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The campaign encourages G&K’s customers to trade in their everyday workwear and purchase pink-ribbon breast cancer awareness work apparel, according to a news release. For those that do, G&K will donate 10% of the purchase price in each company’s name to the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation.

“For the seventh straight year, G&K Services is joining with our customers to support the fight against breast cancer,” said Ian Davis, vice president of U.S. Field. “We value our customers’ dedication in raising awareness of this disease and supporting the search for a cure.”

The risk of breast cancer is very real, according to Hope Chest, which says one in eight American women will contract the disease at some point during their lifetime, the release said. Through the campaign, GKdirect aims to help companies raise awareness of the disease by allowing their employees to wear breast cancer awareness apparel during the month of October.

This year, GKdirect is offering 15 breast cancer awareness products, including polo shirts and soft shell jackets. All such apparel comes embroidered with the breast cancer awareness ribbon and includes room for companies to add their logo. Click here to learn more.
