Crown Health Care Laundry Services, a Pensacola, FL-based regional company, recently announced plans to open a $12 million plant in Lee County, SC, according to news reports.

Local officials are pleased with the plans for the new plant that initially will bring about 80 new jobs to this community located roughly an hour east of Columbia, SC. The plant could employ as many as 150 people within three years.

“Crown Health Care Laundry Services represents an incredible opportunity for this community in terms of the number of jobs that will be created,” said Travis Windham, chairman of the Lee County Council.

The company has planned two job fairs as it begins staffing the new facility that’s expected to open early in 2017. The first job fair is slated for 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the old Bishopville High School gymnasium in Bishopville, the reports said. The second is planned for 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Sumter Civic Center in Sumter.

Windham urged area residents who might like to work in the plant to take advantage of the job fairs. “It is vital for the people of this region to attend these job fairs to demonstrate to the company that we have the employees desired to finalize this deal,” he said. Crown is seeking individuals for a variety of jobs, ranging from front-line laundry staff to route drivers, maintenance mechanics and production supervisors. Click here for details.
