Bethany Cruz, a rising artist in Nashville, TN, recently sang at homecoming concerts in Binghamton, NY, sponsored by her former employer, Bates Troy Inc.
Cruz recently released a two-volume set of holiday songs, titled “Rejoice, Songs for the Season,” that feature her renditions of holiday classics, including some with updated lyrics, according to a news report. Cruz has spent five years in Nashville, the report said. Before that, she worked for Bates Troy. She began in the dry-cleaning division, moved to fire and water restoration and then was a manager in the retail dry-cleaning store, according to her father, Randy Widrick, who’s the company’s sales and marketing manager.
Cruz sang on two evenings (Dec. 16-17, 2016) at Hands of Hope Church in Binghamton. Cruz currently is touring with a Christian musical group NewSong. She was a guest artist on the group’s Christmas tour. Cruz decided to return to Binghamton to perform and visit with friends and family.
“I get to come up here and look out at all of the people that I love at the same time,” Cruz said of her visit home. “And sometimes my heart gets really full and I feel like I have to cry. But everybody you love being in the same place at the same time, how often do you get that? It feels like a family reunion and sometimes I get to meet new faces and new people and my family’s friends and it’s fun. I love that.”
