Huebsch Services, Eau Claire, WI, recently was recognized in the third annual Sustainable Eau Claire awards program sponsored by the local City Council, according to a news release.

“Huebsch continues to be committed to environmental sustainability,” said President and CEO Jim Vaudreuil, who also serves on TRSA’s Board of Directors. “We are excited to be recognized by the Eau Claire City Council for our innovation in this area. We will continue to make improvements to our products and processes to have a positive impact on the environment.”

The Sustainable Eau Claire program recognizes businesses, individuals and organizations that are working to create a more sustainable city, the release said. Huebsch was recognized in the “Sustainable Products and Processes Category.” Huebsch’s commitment to “green” operations include a solar energy initiative, the use of energy-efficient fleet vehicles, water reuse and conservation, heat reclamation and more, the release said.

In March, TRSA also recognized Huebsch with a Clean Green Innovation Award for its solar initiative and its commitment to sustainability. Launched in 2016, the solar program featured the installation of a 100 kW solar energy system at the company’s headquarters. The solar panels provide one-third of the company’s energy needs for its Eau Claire plant. It also allows Huebsch to co-generate energy.

In addition, Huebsch is certified with TRSA’s Clean Green program, which requires adherence to and documentation of best-management practices (BMPs) for efficiencies in water and energy conservation as well as reuse, reclamation and recycling of various resources.

Huebsch is a sponsor of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce’ “Green Business Initiative” as well, and the company helps other businesses pursue their sustainability goals and processes.
