ImageFIRST Joins in PTSD Awareness Event
Team members from ImageFIRST’s Los Angeles location recently took part in an event called “Not On My Watch” to raise awareness of suicide by current or former military members, according to a news release. The event was hosted by Wellness Works, a veterans health group based in Glendale, CA, and corresponded with National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness month.
The June 27 gathering was held at the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena, CA, which has earned the nickname of “Suicide Bridge” in the local community. More than 150 veterans and civilians have committed suicide at this location, the release said.
Throughout the event, veterans took turns standing watch over the bridge to honor the fallen, as well as support those struggling with PTSD and depression. A total of 28 ImageFIRST South LA employees, along with 27 of their friends and family members, attended the event wearing camouflage-patterned shirts to show support.
In 2014, ImageFIRST donated more than $400,000 and 15,000 volunteer hours between all of its locations in the United States, the release noted. To read the full release, click here.
