The JENSEN-GROUP, Burgdorf, Switzerland, recently announced a 2% hike in yearly revenues, along with investments in technology and a partnering effort through its China-based Alpha brand to reach a broader market for its wash aisle and finishing equipment.

“We are expanding our market reach by investing in further automation of the operations of our customers, as well as catering to the stand-alone market with more standard solutions,” said Jesper Jensen, CEO of the JENSEN-GROUP, in a news release. “This will secure growth as we create a larger customer base for our equipment and solutions.”

Overall, the company reported record earnings of 344 euros ($400 million), the release said. Regarding its two-tiered marketing strategy, JENSEN touted its recently introduced ALPHA by JENSEN, which offers high-tech machinery from its factories in the West, coupled with single machines exported from China under the ALPHA by JENSEN brand. “This two-tier strategy allows us to better meet our customers’ requirements,” the release said. “In combination with our stand-alone solutions partner TOLON, we are able to cater to the needs of smaller commercial laundries, as well as large on-premise laundries.”

In other developments from the past year, JENSEN:

  • Cited its minority-share investment in Inwatek, a Danish laundry technology company that’s helping JENSEN implement high-tech material-handling solutions. “This participation strengthens our market position and supports our strategy into high-tech solutions addressing new areas in laundry automation, such as laundry robotics and artificial intelligence,” the release said.
  • Noted its newly created Material Handling and Automation Business Unit that is designed to “help us to better capture the opportunities in improving the material flow and logistics in heavy-duty laundries,” the release said. “Most high-tech laundries need equipment which works seamlessly together, thus improving the material flow through the facility.”
  • Proclaimed the team spirit of its JENSEN USA subsidiary in recovering from a Hurricane Michael that struck the Panama City in the panhandle region of Florida on Oct. 10, 2018. “Our American colleagues showed great dedication and worked relentlessly to implement a disaster-recovery plant,” the release said. “By the end of October, JENSEN USA was running close to normal capacity again. The concerted effort in the U.S. and the support from the entire workforce of the JENSEN-GROUP was a true expression of the JENSEN spirit that all JENSEN employees around the globe experience.”
  • Announced a streamlined product range and plans to introduce several new products in 2019.
