Effective Jan. 1, JENSEN-GROUP acquired a 30% stake in Inwatec ApS, a Danish manufacturer of mat rollers and other washroom and finishing equipment for laundries, according to a news release.

For JENSEN, the goal is to extend the range of automation solutions and artificial intelligence in the laundry industry, an area where Inwatec has excelled, the release said. “With the motto ‘We remove the dirty work,’ Inwatec produces innovative solutions for heavy-duty laundries around the world, and the synergy effects of the new agreement with JENSEN-GROUP are making room for further upgrading of the activities at the Inwatec headquarters in Odense, Denmark,” the release said.

Inwatec CEO Mads Andresen told Textile Services Weekly that the new partnership with JENSEN won’t affect Inwatec’s ongoing marketing agreement with J.P. Equipment Inc., Indianapolis, regarding mat rollers. “JPE is still our U.S. dealer on mat rollers,” Andresen said. “Nothing changed and we have no plan to change this. JPE has done a great job for Inwatec.”

In any event, the partnership with JENSEN is expected to quicken Inwatec’s already rapid growth. “In three years, we have grown from four to 30 employees, and the opportunity to benefit from JENSEN GROUP’s large distribution and service network means we can now focus even more on the innovation and development of new products and less on the distribution,” Andresen said.

JENSEN-GROUP CEO Jesper Munch Jensen echoed Andresen’s upbeat view of the partnership. “For us, it is a great transaction,” Jensen said. “We can offer Inwatec and extensive distribution channel, and for us it is a matter of how can we develop this industry to a much higher level and bring the industry into a new generation when it comes to automation.” Click here for details.
