KC Linen Supply VP Passes On

David Kartsonis, 33, vice president of Superior Linen Supply, Kansas City, MO, died early Saturday, Jan. 10, at home in Brookside, a Kansas City neighborhood, according to news reports.

Kartsonis – along with other managers in the family business – was long active in TRSA. Most notably, he was a graduate of TRSA’s Production Management Institute and in 2012 received his Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM) designation. Kartsonis was also a regular attendee at Clean Shows and at various TRSA meetings held to discuss best laundry practices and other key topics.

Born in Kansas City, he graduated in 2004 from the University of Central Missouri, then joined the family business as part of a fourth generation of managers. His key accomplishments – achieved in concert with his brother Matthew Kartsonis – included his company’s acquisitions of Medical Laundry Service and Mr. Mat. David also was an Eagle Scout and a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia; daughters, Maria Georgia and Andriana Georgia; parents Bill and Jan Kartsonis of Lake Winnebago, MO; a brother, Matthew (Sara), Kansas City; father- and mother-in-law Demetri and Andriana Velis, Dallas; grandmothers Edith Kartsonis and Darlene Godt, both of Lee’s Summit, MO.
