Carl William Holt, 84, died on July 23. Holt spent decades working in the textile services industry, working his way up to a general manager position when he retired.

Holt began his career with Industrial Uniform & Towel Supply Inc. (now known as Superior Linen Service Inc., Tulsa, OK). When that company sold its industrial division to Cintas Corp. in 1984, Holt worked for Cintas and moved his way up to general manager of the company’s Springdale, AR, location, a position he held when he retired. Holt passed along his love of the industry to his son, Russell, who currently serves as the chief compliance officer at Superior Linen Service and chairs TRSA’s Safety Committee.

A native of Yanceyville, NC, Holt was a veteran of the Korean War. He earned a bronze star and a purple heart for his service.

Survivors include his second wife, Ann, whom he married in January 2004; his son, Russell (Valerie); daughter-in-law Gale Gage Holt; two stepdaughters; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Clifford Williams; first wife, Bonnie Ruth Holt; and eldest son, Carl William Holt Jr.
