Mission Linen Supply, Santa Barbara, CA, recently announced that it was recognized with a Bronze Stevie® Award in the 2018 American Business Awards® category for large companies offering business and professional services, according to a news release. The competition drew more than 3,700 entrants in a variety of categories.

Mission Linen was recognized for going “above and beyond” for its customers, community and the environment, the release said. For example, on the sustainability front, in 2017 Mission Linen saved 141 million gallons of water and 1.03 million kWh of energy. In addition, the company broadened its linen and garment product offerings to better serve customers. It also opened a new plant in Newark, CA, that’s in the process of finalizing its application as a “green” LEED-certified facility. Mission Linen also added jobs in plants across the Western U.S. and donated textile goods to an array of charitable causes.

“At Mission, our goal of always doing more for our customers, communities and environment drives each and every decision we make,” said John Ross, Mission Linen’s president and CEO. “We are honored to have our efforts recognized, and we are already identifying ways to do even more in 2018 and beyond.”

All companies operating in the U.S. are eligible to submit nominations for the American Business Awards, including public, private, for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Mission Linen and other Stevie Award winners will be recognized at an awards gala on June 11 in New York. Click here for details.

“The nominations submitted for the 2018 American Business Awards were outstanding,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “The competition was intense, and those recognized as Stevie Award winners should be immensely proud of this accomplishment.”

This award is the latest of several that Mission has received in recent months. Others include the City of Santa Barbara’s Water Hero Award for water conservation, a 2017 silver “Best in Biz” award in the Most Environmentally Responsible Company of the Year category and a Sustainability Leadership Award in the Business Intelligence Group’s 2017 Sustainability Awards Program.
