Mountville Mills, a global leader in commercial floor mat manufacturing, recently acquired Bartex NV, a leader in dust control mat manufacturing for linen, uniform and facility services companies in Europe, according to a news release.

“Bartex is one of the pioneers in our industry, and they have a rich history of product innovation and excellent quality,” said David Hart, CEO of Mountville Mills. “We are honored to have the opportunity to continue the Bartex tradition, and our customers will benefit tremendously from the combined marketing support, the expanded product line and manufacturing efficiencies.”

Bartex was founded in 1982 by Philippe Barbieux. Bartex developed the first printing machine for logo mats and has grown into one of the market leaders in the dust control mat manufacturing market in Europe. Based in Fleurus, Belgium, the company specializes in high-quality, customized products designed for the linen, uniform and facility services industry.

“Partnering with Mountville gives us the opportunity to start a new era in our company’s history, while keeping the uniqueness of our products and brand,” said Luc Van den Berge, CEO of Bartex.

Founded in 1963, Mountville Mills is a family owned business and is the largest producer of rubber- backed floor mats in the world, the release said. Mountville has three mat manufacturing facilities and two rubber manufacturing facilities in Georgia. Mountville also has manufacturing facilities in Ronse, Belgium, and Caerphilly, UK.
