Next-Gen Execs Roundtable Focuses on Labor, Tech Issues
TRSA’s Next-Generation Executives Committee recently held its final meeting of the year, a virtual Problem-Solving Roundtable on Cybersecurity and Labor issues.
The roundtable was facilitated by committee members Tyler Fowler, M+A Matting; and Tony Jackson, Kannegiesser ETECH. After a brief welcome and introduction by TRSA President & CEO Joseph Ricci, the meeting featured interactive breakout sessions on Cybersecurity/New Technology Trends and Employee/Labor Issues.
The Cybersecurity/New Technology Trends discussion was facilitated by Fowler and included the following topics:
- Greater focus by businesses on cybersecurity
- Artificial intelligence (AI)
- The proliferation of 5G
- A greater emphasis on automation
- Influencer marketing and social media advertising
The Employee/Labor Issues discussion was facilitated by Jackson and included the following topics:
- Employees retiring/leaving the workforce
- Hiring, recruiting and retaining frontline employees – what’s been working?
- Wage increases, compensation and benefits adjustments due to labor shortages
- Managing a team looking for greater flexibility
- Having to provide additional bonuses to show up for work
