Novozymes Tops Science Employer List
Science Magazine recently announced survey results showing that Novozymes, a Danish company and TRSA associate member, earned a No. 1 ranking on its list of top 20 global employers engaged in biotechnology, pharmaceutical and related industries.
“We are proud to be recognized as the best employer by this leading scientific journal,” said Per Falholt, chief science officer of Novozymes,” in a news release. “We develop biological answers to some of the greatest challenges of our time. Our growing world needs more food, better farming, renewable energy and clean air and water. Our products really make a difference, and I believe that is a great motivation for everybody at Novozymes.”
Novozymes produces enzymes for laundry detergents as well as microorganisms for an array of industrial applications.
Science Magazine, which is published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, scored the survey based on 5,701 responses from readers and other survey invitees. The key characteristics of the winners were “innovative leader in the industry, “treats employees with respect,” and “is socially responsible,” the release said.
While no other TRSA members made the top 20 list, 13 of the companies that did were U.S. firms, including Eli Lilley & Co., Indianapolis; and Monsanto Co., Creve Coeur, MO. For details, click here.
