Rentwear, Canton, OH, recently hosted U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) on a plant tour to give him an in-depth look at the operations of an industrial laundry. The tour emanated from a meeting that TRSA staff had with Rep. Gibbs in Washington, DC. Gibbs remembered meeting TRSA leadership a TRSAPAC Fly-In two years ago.

The tour started with an introduction of RentWear by Roger and Dan Clay. During the introduction, the Clays discussed the company’s history as well as the employee benefits that Rentwear offers. “We are really proud of our staff. This is a people business and the workers reflect our values” said Roger Clay, company founder and president.

The congressman then toured the plant floor, including soil sort, wash aisle, finishing and storage.

During the tour, Rep. Gibbs mentioned how the tour put much of his previous conversations with TRSA representatives into perspective, giving him a much better understanding of how the industry operates. He also mentioned that it clarified how the issues the industry faces have an impact on operations.

After the tour, Rep. Gibbs spent time with RentWear employees as a group, learning more from them as to their thoughts on working for the company and the benefits they receive.
