Pair of Plant Tours Highlight Canadian Production Summit

TRSA recently hosted its Second Annual Canadian Production Summit and Plant Tours on Sept. 11-13 at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal in Montréal, Canada. A robust agenda came to a close with a pair of healthcare laundry tours on the second day of the event.

Bruce Lourie, the summit’s keynote speaker, kicked off the event with a presentation on environmental entrepreneurship. Lourie is a well-known leader and author in the environmental sector and provided a wealth of information for those in attendance at the summit. For more information, Lourie’s recent books include Slow Death by Rubber Duck and Toxin Toxout.

The summit agenda also included sessions on environmental sustainability and wastewater compliance, as well as human resources/workforce management best practices. Breakout sessions featured the following topics:

  • Processing, Care and Sales of High Visibility and FR
  • Ten Best Tips for Running an Efficient Plant

The opening day came to a close with an interactive panel discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges facing linen, uniform and facility services operators in the Canadian market. The final day of the summit featured a look at both private and public healthcare laundries: Buanderie Blanchelle, St-Jean, and Hôpital du Sacré Coeur, North-Island.
