Paris Cos., Stern Gain ‘Smart 50’ Honors (Again)
For the third consecutive year, Paris Cos. and CEO, David Stern, recently were named as members of the greater Pittsburgh area Smart 50 for 2016.
“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of my management team and all the employees of Paris Companies,” said Stern. “And we thank our customers for their continued loyalty and support.”
The Smart 50 Award recognizes companies that stand out in leadership, innovation, sustainability and impact on the region. Smart Business Magazine, a national consortium of business management journals, hosts the annual awards. Paris, based in DuBois, PA, is one of only three companies honored for the third consecutive year in 2016. Paris provides linen management, laundry, and uniform rental services to healthcare and industrial markets.
Despite the fact that Pennsylvania lost 35% of its manufacturing jobs from 1994 to 2016, Paris has more than tripled its employment over the last 20 years and has never laid off employees, despite six national recessions since Stern joined his father’s company in 1973.
In 2016, Paris will conclude its 38th consecutive year of revenue growth. “It’s an accomplishment that reflects our commitment to build trust and long-term relationships with our customers,” Stern said. A multi-million dollar plant expansion, completed in October, will help the company retain its market leadership position and support future growth opportunities. To learn more, see www.parisco.com.
