Prudential Overall Supply, Irvine, CA, recently was tapped as one of five Orange County, CA, businesses nominated for consideration as a Top Family-Owned Business in a competition sponsored by the Orange County Business Journal (OCBJ).

“The team at Prudential is honored to be part of this select group of companies identified by the committee at the OCBJ,” a company news release said.

The release also noted that the nomination comes at a pivotal time in the company’s 88-year history. Starting earlier this year, Dan Clark, the second-generation owner, elected to continue his role as chairman of the board, while his son John succeeded him as CEO.

A letter released in May – and cited in the release – pointed to this leadership transition as a key moment in the company’s development. “I will turn over my CEO role to John Clark and help him assume his leadership of the company,” Dan wrote in the letter. “I think that he is well prepared for this new assignment, and he shares my same enthusiasm for the company, our employees and the future.”

Dan continued, noting that, “This leadership transition will guide the company to new levels of success, and all of us at Prudential look forward to the exciting times ahead.” Click here for details.
