Reino Linen Secures Detroit Hospital Contract
Detroit Medical Center is shuttering its laundry operation, Total Linen Services, after 45 years in business, and contracting with Reino Linen Service, a recent report in Crain’s Detroit Business noted. Total Linen Services will shut down on Nov. 2, the report said.
Detroit Medical Center made the move to cut costs, according to the report. Total Linen began operating in 1970 and served all Detroit Medical Center hospitals. “This is a decision we did not take lightly, and we are committed to doing everything we can to ease the transition for affected employees, including offering severance benefits and job placement assistance,” Detroit Medical Center said in a statement.
Reino Linen Service, Gibsonburg, OH, which has a plant in Brownstown, MI, also provides linen service to several hospitals in southeast Michigan, according to the report. To read the full report, click here.
