At New York-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital’s recent Safety Fair, Unitex teamed with the hospital’s education staff to promote safe-linen handling practices to healthcare workers, environmental services staff, and other hospital employees.

Through one-on-one and group engagements, Unitex presented TRSA’s safety video, The Six C’s: Handling Soiled Linen in a Healthcare Environment, to over 200 people attending the fair. The video, a TRSA production, outlines the healthcare industry’s best practices for containing, collecting and consolidating soiled healthcare textiles. “Overall, it was a great success,” said Seth Gershman, Unitex’s Director of Marketing. “By the end of the fair, Hudson Valley’s education staff director wanted a copy of the video so she could use it for future training and educational opportunities. We gave her two.”

Unitex has established proactive outreach program aimed at educating healthcare employees on how to properly handle, distribute and collect its linen and uniform products. The program has promoted safe practices and reduced linen loss at customer sites.
