Kelly Ayotte (R-NH); Michael Croatti, senior vice president; Kevin Stultz, UniClean director of operations; and Bill Ross, senior vice president.

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) recently visited a UniFirst industrial laundry and cleanroom plant in Nashua, NH. TRSA arranged the tour to highlight the textile services industry.

During the visit, Sen. Ayotte met with production employees and addressed the entire staff after the tour. She also helped celebrate the 45th anniversary of UniFirst employee team partner Dorothy Emond.

The senator received a personal tour of the facility from General Manager Greg Mazares, along with members of UniFirst’s executive team. She observed the entire process from sorting to delivery. The plant that Sen. Ayotte toured featured conventional washing in one area and cleanroom processing in another. The latter operation was a UniClean plant, which is part of UniFirst’s cleanroom division. Sen. Ayotte was impressed with the facility, and she increased her knowledge of the textile services industry. “I appreciated the opportunity to visit UniFirst's Nashua facility and learn more about their work to design, produce and maintain workforce apparel,” she said. “I enjoyed meeting their enthusiastic workforce and discussing important issues facing New Hampshire families.”

During an employee town hall meeting, Sen. Ayotte discussed issues such as protecting MediCare and Social Security and the regulations that Obama administration currently is promulgating that could have a negative impact on jobs and growth.

The tour by Sen. Ayotte of UniFirst’s two facilities under one roof is another great example of the productive relationships that TRSA cultivates with members of Congress on behalf of the industry.
