Southern Textile Services (STS), founded in 2006, recently announced it’s moving to a new location that will support an expansion, according to local news reports. Using its $7.1 million guaranteed loan from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, owner Adam Rubin expects to “double our space, double our employees, double our equipment.” U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-LA) recently announced the loan guarantee to aid STS, which is based in Alexandria, LA.

The company’s current workspace is 12,000-square feet. Its new home, the former site of Carroll Furniture, at 1819 Memorial Drive, has 25,000 square feet of space, as well as additional space Rubin is leasing for extra revenue. STS currently provides services to healthcare customers throughout Louisiana and Mississippi, and has 57 employees. Rubin says he can easily see that number rising to 100 more with the company’s current growth expectations.
