Staunton Steam Shutters after 108 Years in Business

Staunton Steam Laundry Inc., a third-generation, family-owned linen supplier based in Staunton, VA, recently shut down operations after more than a century of service to local businesses, according to news reports.

In 2019, the company sold its dry-cleaning business, and in April 2020, Staunton Steam sold its industrial business to Cintas Corp., Mason, OH. To read more about the deal with Cintas, click here.

After selling the industrial side of the business, Staunton Steam sold its remaining linen business to Virginia Linen Service Inc., Petersburg, VA, in November 2020, according to the report. The sale didn’t involve Staunton Steam’s real estate and equipment, the article noted.
