Swedish Launderer Seeks Sustainable Power

Hr Björkmans Entrémattor, a mat rental and laundry service based in Arlov, Sweden, is doing all it can to help conserve environmental resources.

Björkmans, the 2014 winner of the European EMAS awards on eco-innovation for improving environmental performance, is moving toward sustainability by installing solar panels on the roof of its plant. The new system will provide 40-60% of the company’s total electricity needs. The balance will come from wind-generated power – moving the company closer to fossil-free status.

CEO Carl-Johan Björkman said he expects the solar panels to be up and running by mid-July.
