Textile Services magazine has received a 2021 APEX Award for Publication Excellence, according to a news release from Communications Concepts Inc., Williamsburg, VA, the sponsor of competition.

Textile Services earned its 11th consecutive APEX Award in the category of “Magazines, Journals & Tabloids – Print, more than 32 pages, including cover.” While Textile Services has won multiple APEX Awards, the honor for 2021 came in a year unlike any other, given the challenges facing publishers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, the 2021 APEX Award competition drew 1,200 entries. Awards were presented in 13 major categories and 100 subcategories, including print magazines of 32 pages or more for which Textile Services was recognized.

“We’re very pleased once again to have met the high standards of quality for this award,” said Senior Editor Jack Morgan. “It was especially important that we do our utmost for readers this past year as they battled the pandemic. We thank our staff and advertisers for making this award possible.”

In addition to the APEX Awards program, Communications Concepts sponsors several online publications aimed at helping businesses and not-for-profit groups enhance their writing and graphic communications skills.

A panel of editorial experts affiliated with Communications Concepts served as judges for the APEX 2021 awards. They included Ken Turtoro, APEX senior judge and Concepts executive editor; John De Lellis, Concepts’ editor and publisher; Christine Turner, contributing editor of the Writing that Works Archives; and Bill Londino, consulting editor of Writer’s Web Watch.
