TRSA Chairman Meets with ETSA Leader
As a follow up to the World Textile Services Congress, which was held in Bruges, Belgium, in October 2016, TRSA Chairman David Potack hosted a Jan. 19 meeting at the Unitex Textile Rental Services’ New Jersey facilities with Juha Laurio, chairman of the European Textile Services Association (ETSA) and CEO of Lindstrom Group, Helsinki. Chairman Potack, along with Michael Potack and Robert Potack, met with Laurio to review a variety of business and association topics, including how to enhance communication and collaboration between TRSA and ETSA.
During the visit, Laurio toured three processing facilities, each specializing in a different aspect of the service that Unitex provides to various healthcare end markets. There was a robust exchange of ideas on common opportunities and challenges faced by members of both associations, including how to foster business growth and reinvestment in family owned companies and how to scale a management team effectively. The companies share a common longevity as family owned companies in the industry, with Unitex operating for 95 years and Lindstrom approaching 170 years in business.
The meeting will serve as a continuation of the close working relationship that TRSA has established with ETSA and serve as a framework for future meetings with various associations worldwide.
