TRSA Hosts Virtual Leadership Summit
TRSA hosted its Virtual Leadership Summit on July 15 with content for CEOs, emerging leaders and next-generation executives in the linen, uniform and facility services industry. The summit, originally slated to take place as an in-person event in Chicago, switched to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day kicked off with a welcome from TRSA Chirman Jim Buik, president, Roscoe Co., Chicago; and Joseph Ricci, president & CEO, TRSA. After welcoming attendees to the online event, keynoters Jonah and David Stillman, a father-and-son speaking team representing “Generation X” and “Generation Z” shared their insights on generational differences and how you can prepare your business for the next generation of leaders in a presentation titled “Make Way for Gen Z!”
After the keynote presentation, the summit moved to several breakout sessions, including:
- “Emotional Intelligence Assessment and Workshop” featuring Eric Kurjan, Six Disciplines Consulting Services
- “Why and How You Should Spend More Time Empowering, Less Time Managing” featuring Everett Gutierrez, DX Learning Solutions
- “Family Business Stories: A Fireside Chat” featuring Johanna Ames, president, Ames Linen Service; Randy Bartsch, CEO, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service; Bryan Bartsch, president, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service; John Clark, Prudential Overall Supply; and David Potack, Unitex
- “The Importance of a Positive Mindset and Positive Recognition in the Workplace” featuring Don Sandel, DX Learning Solutions
A panel titled, “COVID-19: How Did the Industry Respond … and How Do We Recover?” closed out the day. The interactive panel featured Cory Acton, VP of operations, Magic Laundry Service Inc.; Buik; Jim Cashman, president, ImageFIRST; P.J. Dempsey, president, Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply; and Joseph Ricci, president & CEO, TRSA. Following the panel, attendees gathered on Zoom for a networking event to end the day.
The summit debuted a new hosting platform that provided an enhanced user experience in terms of participation, networking and collaboration. Presentations from the Virtual Leadership Summit will be available for attendees to access online.
