TRSA Provides Opportunities to Develop, Reward Employees

Posted November 5, 2019 at 11:55 am

The new year (decade!) is just around the corner, and TRSA is ready to provide members with a way to support their company’s culture of employee development and recognition with the release of the TRSA 2020 calendar of professional development opportunities. All events are posted at the TRSA website, www.trsa.org/events, and all events through the first quarter of 2020 are open for registration.

It’s no secret that employers need to invest in ways to keep employees satisfied and in place. A longtime management truth that is sometimes attributed to Henry Ford (American industrialist and founder of Ford Motor Co.) states, “The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave is not training them and having them stay.” The continued low unemployment rate provides today’s workers with many options. Retaining top talent is as big a challenge as readily finding qualified applicants who may replace those who choose to leave. Resources from glassdoor.com and other HR/employee-motivational resources show that employees value learning and development as workplace benefits. Combining such opportunities with recognition can encourage loyalty, which also drives performance levels.

TRSA offers national and regional conferences, institutes and summits that are of interest to a variety of levels of employees. These events provide opportunities to discover innovative approaches, learn proven best practices and collaborate and network with industry colleagues and leadership.

CONFERENCES

TRSA’s six conferences will appeal to executives and upper-to-mid-level managers. Each conference provides a solid agenda that includes a relevant keynote, general sessions and panels made up of leading industry subject-matter experts. Another highlight is market-specific plant tours. Events include:

In a highly competitive employment market, developing the industry skills and knowledge needed for success is key to recognizing, rewarding and retaining workers who will be the industry leaders of tomorrow,” stated TRSA Chairman Jim Buik, president and owner of the Roscoe Co., Chicago.
