ULS in Talks to Buy Young Laundry
Vicky Cayetano, president and CEO of United Laundry Services (ULS), Honolulu, is reportedly in talks to purchase Young Laundry & Dry Cleaning, according to media reports.
Cayetano told The Honolulu Star-Advertiser that she was looking to close the deal by the end of May. She added that Young’s name wouldn’t change after the purchase. The value of the potential acquisition was not disclosed.
United Laundry Services was co-founded in 1988 by Cayetano, the former first lady of Hawaii. ULS provides commercial laundry services to the healthcare and hospitality markets. ULS has operations on The Big Island and Oahu. ULS joined the PureStar Linen Group in July 2016.
PureStar is the holding company for four commercial laundry businesses focusing on the hospitality sector. Operating under the Brady Linen, United Laundry Services, Atlantic City (AC) Linen and Royal Hospitality Services trade names, the company operates facilities across North America, including leading market positions in Las Vegas, Honolulu, Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Connecticut, the Bahamas and Cancun, Mexico.
