UniFirst and Hendrick Motorsports Extend Partnership
The No. 5 UniFirst Chevrolet SS returns to the NASCAR track for the Talladega 500 on May 7 at 2 p.m. EDT at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. UniFirst Corp., Wilmington, MA, is continuing its partnership with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2017 NASCAR season as a primary sponsor of the No. 5 car driven by Kasey Kahne, according to a news release.
UniFirst and Hendrick Motorsports announced an eight-year agreement last year making the uniform, workwear and facility services company a primary sponsor of select NASCAR races and a full-season associate sponsor for the No. 5 team each season through the year 2023. Upcoming races for the UniFirst Chevrolet will take place at Talladega, AL, on May 7 and the Daytona 400 in Daytona Beach, FL, on July 1, at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Both will air internationally on network television with the Talladega race on FOX and Daytona on NBC. In addition to sponsoring a car, UniFirst also is the official workwear provider for Hendrick Motorsports and sister company Hendrick Automotive Group, which is the largest privately held retail automotive organization in the United States.
“UniFirst is thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Hendrick Motorsports and the entire No. 5 NASCAR racing team,” said Adam Soreff, director of marketing and communications for UniFirst. “We’re excited for the upcoming UniFirst-sponsored races and our entire company will be cheering on Kasey at Talladega and Daytona. All of us at UniFirst wish Kasey and everyone at Hendrick Motorsports the best of luck for a successful 2017 NASCAR season.”
Since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, Kasey Kahne has earned 17 career NASCAR Cup Series wins and five playoff berths. The Enumclaw, WA, native’s impressive career totals more than 85 top-five finishes, 165 top-10 finishes and 25 pole positions.
Kahne said that, “I’m looking forward to the upcoming races driving the UniFirst Chevy. Last year, I met several folks from UniFirst at the track, including CEO Ron Croatti, and they’re all excited about the racing program and the long-term partnership. It’s going to be a lot of fun representing UniFirst at Talladega and Daytona.”
