UniFirst Celebrates Founder’s Day
UniFirst recently held its annual Founder’s Day celebration in honor of the company’s inception. The yearly celebration, which is held at all 225 locations in the United States and Canada, honors the memory of Aldo Croatti, company founder. This year’s event also marks the company’s 80th anniversary, according to media reports.
Founder’s Day has been held every year since Croatti passed away in 2001. Each year, the event is held on the Friday closest to the company’s founding date of July 12, 1936. Employees gather at company facilities for barbecues, speeches, activities and awards.

In addition to honoring Croatti on Founder’s Day, UniFirst employees recognize his founding core values that remain the foundation of UniFirst's corporate culture today: customer focus, respect for others and commitment to quality. UniFirst team partners also renew their annual commitment to the company's essentials of service and pledge to keep customers the focus of everything they do.
Additionally, each UniFirst location names its Employee of the Year – the person who best exemplifies the company’s core values. Each Employee of the Year is presented with a special recognition gift, and his or her name is engraved on a plaque that remains on permanent display at their UniFirst location.
