UniFirst Plans New Plant in South Bend, IN

UniFirst Corp., based in Wilmington, MA, is planning to relocate its operations in the South Bend, IN, area, according to media reports. The South Bend Redevelopment Commission recently approved plans for a $3.4 million laundry facility in a corporate park located north of South Bend International Airport.

Cohn & Cohn Investments, Columbia, SC, will develop a 20,000-square-foot plant to lease to UniFirst. UniFirst purchased the uniform division of Ziker Cleaners, South Bend, in October 2014 and currently operates out of the Ziker location on East Sample Street in South Bend. UniFirst plans to expand and add jobs in South Bend in the future once its annual local revenue surpasses $10 million.
