Unitex Textile Rental Services, Mt. Vernon, NY, recently announced its acquisition of roughly 600 accounts in New York and New Jersey previously managed by Amertex Textile Services’ Healthcare Uniform and Textile Rental Business Division, according to a news release.

Amertex, a linen and uniform rental service based in the Bronx, NY, will continue to operate its business, enhancing its efforts in different end markets in the industry that they already serve, the release said. To that end, company executives decided that Unitex offered the best business model to assume serving their healthcare uniform and textile rental clients.

“Acquiring Amertex’ healthcare uniform and textile business division is definitely a big step forward for Unitex,” said Vice President David Potack. “Since a majority of our business is currently based in the tristate area, we already have a major footprint here and are invested in many of the communities throughout the area. To that end, we are excited to expand our business in new directions and work with new companies.”

The Ginsburg family has owned and operated Amertex for three generations, the release said. Their hands-on approach helped make the company a major player in the industry and Unitex is excited to continue that legacy and move forward in a positive direction. Click here to read the full release.

Unitex currently operates 11 healthcare textile service plants in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
