Medi-Clean Healthcare Laundry Service, an operator serving healthcare clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, recently merged with Unitex, a move that’s designed to expand that company’s service area in those states, according to a news release.

Medi-Clean, Aston, PA, has 450 customers, the release said. Unitex has already begun the process of integrating those clients into its service. Medi-Clean co-founder and owner, Joe Mastin, now will report to Unitex’s Vice President of Operations Rob Potack. Mastin’s new title is regional operations manager. He will oversee the New Jersey market, which includes Unitex plants in Perth Amboy and New Brunswick. Prior to founding Medi-Clean, Mastin worked 24 years for Nixon Uniform Service & Medical Wear, where he served as vice president and COO.

“We are excited to bring these two companies together and equally excited to have Joe on board to work with us,” said David Potack, president of Unitex, Elmsford, NY.

Mastin noted that, “When the lease expired at my plant and we had to consider moving after nine years, I decided to sell my company, and there is no other company that I would consider other than Unitex. Although Michael (chairman), David and Robert Potack run this huge and successful company, they are still a true family business, treating everyone as part of their family. I can now say that I am part of that family and it’s a great honor to be working with them.” Click here for details.
