Venus Group recently announced the opening of an 83,000-square-foot “cut and sew” manufacturing facility in South Carolina. The Fort Lawn plant will include a distribution center and is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2015.

This new venture, according to a news release, will enhance Venus’ Custom Capabilities program. In as little as 3-5 business days, the company can cut and sew tablecloths, aprons and bed linen and ship the goods to customers.

Venus currently operates a 170,000-square-foot “cut and sew” facility and distribution center at its Orange County, CA, headquarters. With the new plant, the company expects to provide the same service on the East Coast that it’s provided to customers in the Western U.S. for more than 40 years. Venus will do this by stocking fabric and core items, and manufacturing special products, the release said.
