Veteran Milnor Regional Sales Mgr. to Retire
Pellerin Milnor Corp. recently announced the retirement of Regional Sales Manager John Rasimas. He began his career in the laundry industry after returning from the Vietnam War, where he served as a captain in the U.S. Army and piloted a Huey helicopter, according to a news release.
In the fall of 1975, he followed in his father’s footsteps and took over the eastern New York State territory for Statewide Machinery. Rasimas attended the very first Clean Show (1975, Chicago) to get a taste of the industry. He turned his experience into a 41-year career in laundry machinery sales.
After establishing himself in New York state, Rasimas built the foundation of Metroland Industrial Equipment Co. (MIECO), a Milnor dealership that formally launched with the 1981 Clean Show in Atlanta. In 1991, Rasimas joined Milnor as a regional sales manager, following the retirement of Al Bucci. Rasimas spent 25 years managing the Northeast U.S. and the eastern half of Canada for Milnor.
Before he concludes, he’ll make a final appearance as a regional sales manager at Synergy 2016, a joint meeting of Chicago Dryer and Milnor dealers and salespeople this November in Scottsdale, AZ.
“John is truly a professional and worked tirelessly for our customers and dealers,” said Rick Kelly, Milnor vice president of sales & marketing, of Rasimas. “We are grateful for his service to Milnor and we wish John and his family all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
