Cam Buffington, a former president of Colmac Industries Inc., Colville, WA, recently announced via a LinkedIn post that he’s retiring from the company. He’ll work instead for his family’s business, Buffington Properties and Investments.

In 2006, Buffington was named the first nonfamily president of Colmac, succeeding Scott McMillan, grandson of the founder, Jerry McMillan, who established the laundry-finishing machinery business in 1959. Jerry’s son Roger took over the company in 1974 after his father’s death in a plane crash. Roger ran the company through his retirement in 2002.

Scott, who continues to serve as CEO/owner of Colmac, announced in February that Justin Shamion would succeed Buffington as president of the company. Buffington will continue to serve on Colmac’s Board of Directors. However, he’ll no longer be involved in day-to-day operations.
