Wagg’s Ltd., Orillia, Ontario, Canada, recently announced that it has acquired Grainger Uniform Rental, Peterborough, Ontario.

Grainger Uniform Rental was family owned and operated, serving Peterborough and the surrounding Kawartha area. Wagg’s has a well-established company culture and values that align with the Grainger family. President Billy Wagg is the fifth generation of his family to run the company, which was founded in 1902.

“I want to commend Rick Grainger and all of his employees for the strong, solid business they created at Grainger Uniform Rental,” Wagg said. “Although our two companies have been friendly competitors over the years in this market, Wagg’s has a lot of respect for Grainger’s history and heritage, for the way they take care of their customers and for the way they live out their values. We believe there is a lot of common ground between our two companies that will allow us to build a strong foundation for a successful future.”

The acquisition expands Wagg’s geographic footprint. The company has added new delivery routes into the Peterborough and Kawartha areas that the company will service out of its existing plant in Orillia. The company will service customers with floor mats, mops, aprons, towels, napkins, industrial coveralls and shop towels, lab coats and gowns.

“The purchase of the Grainger Uniform Rental customers aligns with our long-standing commitment to our core markets throughout central Ontario where we have served customers for over 120 years,” Wagg said. “Our reputation for reliable, best-in-class service is built on our in-depth regional resources and our outstanding team. We will build on this foundation by increasing our service capacity and geographic supply for customers across our markets. This acquisition also supports a natural expansion of our regional footprint, and we are excited to serve new customers across several Ontario regions.”

As of November 2021, Wagg’s began servicing the new accounts out of its headquarters in Orillia. The purchase didn’t include Grainger’s dry-cleaning division. For more information, visit www.waggs.ca.
