Aramark Uniform & Career Apparel, Kent, WA, recently received a Gold Award for its wastewater compliance efforts from the King County Industrial Waste Program, according to news reports.

Aramark was one of 52 Seattle-area organizations that earned this recognition for rigorous compliance with wastewater-discharge regulations in 2015. The awards went to Aramark and the other facilities that complied with wastewater-discharge rules for every month of 2015 with no violations. Another 13 facilities received Silver Awards for having no King County monitoring-discharge violations during 2015.

Since 1969, the Industrial Waste Program has required industrial facilities to pretreat wastewater before discharging it into the sewer system. The program is designed to protect the King County treatment system and its employees, as well as the environment and public health. Click here to learn more.
