TRSA Extends President & CEO Contract -4/30/12

The Board of Directors of TRSA, the only organization representing independent, regional and national operators and associates in the $16-billion textile services industry, has extended the contract of President & CEO Joseph Ricci. The three-year extension contains options to extend based upon Ricci’s and the association’s performance.

“Joe has done an excellent job learning the industry and building a staff that supports and expands TRSA’s mission,” said TRSA Chair Woody Ostrow. “He has shown a commitment to the industry by visiting over 100 member plants. This extension demonstrates the Board of Directors’ approval and commitment to the organization’s direction under Joe’s leadership.”

Since joining TRSA two years ago, the Board has tasked the staff led by Ricci to accomplish objectives that support TRSA’s mission to expand and protect the market for textile services through advocacy and increasing professionalism and productivity through education, certification, information sharing, research and benchmarking, including:

  • Membership growth (10%) and retention (87%)
  • PMI, EMI and MMI attendance (up 15%)
  • Developed and introduced company and individual certifications that quantify commitment to professionalism, sustainability and cleanliness
    • Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM)
    • Clean Green
    • Hygienically Clean
  • Launched Leadership & Legislative Conference attracting more than 125 industry leaders to Washington to meet with and educate their congressional representatives
  • Developed “friends” in Congress that support business growth and balanced regulation
  • Increased PAC involvement by 1,000% and donations by 500%
  • Expanded relationships with regulatory agencies including the EPA, OSHA, Department of Labor and Veterans Administration (VA)
  • Established monthly reporting and transparency with the Board of Directors to stabilize TRSA’s staff and financials

“I am committed to the textile services industry and TRSA,” said Ricci. “We have been extremely busy revitalizing the organization to add member value and reaching out to members and nonmembers – TRSA’s customers – to improve our information sharing, benchmarking, programs and publications.”
