Kemco Systems, Clearwater, FL, announced on Aug. 8 its acquisition of a dissolved air floatation (DAF) specialist, Water Resources Inc., Auburn, AL. The agreement will expand Kemco’s engineered wastewater treatment capabilities in rapidly growing industries, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This acquisition allows us to better service our industrial clients with a more robust portfolio of treatment technologies for discharge compliance, product recovery and water reuse,” said Tom Vanden Heuvel, CEO of Kemco Systems. “Partnering with Water Resources will be a great advantage to our clients in our core markets of poultry and meat processing, as well as laundry and other niche industries.”

Water Resources brings DAF technology that provides an effective process for treating a variety of industrial wastewater streams, specifically oils, greases and suspended solids, the release said.

Since 1991, Water Resources has been a leader in physical/chemical separation technologies for industrial markets. Its strengths include food processing, industrial laundering and metal-finishing industries, the release said.

Sam Rodgers, president of Water Resources, said, “We are excited by the opportunity to collaborate with a company like Kemco, whose brand is readily known in industrial circles,” Rodgers said. “Their reach and pedigree, combined with our experience and expertise, will offer customers an unprecedented level of support and service.”

“Together we are prepared to transform the way industry looks at recovering its precious water resource,” Vanden Heuvel said.
